It is your responsibility to ensure ALL data is accurate before submission. Berwick Insurance Group is only verifying writing number information.
For which enrollments will I be charged when using the Medicare Sales System (MSS)?
All applications submitted through MSS will be charged the appropriate amount based on product type (refer to your 'MSS License Agreement'). This includes, but is not limited to: applications approved by the carrier; applications with incorrect information; and applications that are rejected by the carrier/CMS or rapid disenrollment(s).
Why are there so many choices to make for each carrier? Is there an easier way?
No. Unfortunately, separate entries are required due to the configuration of carriers' contract and electronic enrollment links. Please read each choice in the setup screens carefully to avoid errors, and to ensure all commissions will be properly credited. Help buttons are available to assist you with you input.
I have UnitedHealthcare. Do I need to make two entries to ensure that I have both Medicare Supplement Insurance and Medicare Advantage/Prescription Drug Plans (MA, PDP, DSNP, etc.)?
Yes. To ensure that you are set up with all of UnitedHealthcare's Medicare products you will need to select both: (Example is in the Help Tools)
If I am in the process of moving my carrier contract to Berwick Insurance. Am I able to add it into the Medicare Sales System (MSS) before the approval of the contract?
No. Due to CMS guidelines, it is required to have the contracts finalized and approved with the carrier and Berwick Insurance before submitting them into the MSS. Once you obtain the carrier producer number that is attached to Berwick Insurance, you can make that adjustment. Additional carriers can be added into the MSS at any time (see, 'How do I add more carriers to the MSS after my initial upload?' for more details.)
How do I add more carriers to MSS after my initial upload?
You're able to use the same process that you used initially. Just return to the Medicare Sales System Online Enrollment Form, put in the information at the top of the screen, and then add only the new carrier information.
Do I have to add these carriers each year, like I have to for my Medicare certifications?
No. This is a one-time upload - this is not a yearly commitment. Once you complete the upload, you are finished until you need to include additional carriers on top of what you uploaded initially.
Are there any browsers that I should or shouldn't use while inputting my information into the MSS website?
• Should NOT: Internet Explorer (versions 6 — 9)
• SHOULD use: Chrome; Firefox; Safari; Internet Explorer 10
How often will application fees be charged to the credit card I have on file with Berwick Insurance Group?
What if the credit card on file is no longer active or I need to change the card on file?
If your card is no longer active, then your MSS Account will be suspended. Once you have an active credit card on file your MSS Account can be reactivated. To change your card on file, you can simple resubmit a new 'Medicare Sales System Automated Bill Payment Application & Agreement' form. Refer back too original MSS Contracting packet.
Do I have to use this system for all of my enrollments? What are the benefits of using the system for all enrollments?
• No. You can use it as-needed, based on your clients' preferences.
• Benefits of using the system include prescription drug tracking, SOA retention, and report generation.
